Further info

Art was a passion for Gavin Teague. Gavin’s journey of art began from a young age as an honest and natural gift. Gavin painted, drew, designed, made ambient music, and used symbolism and metaphor to speak of issues close to his heart. Gavin's mind was a treasure trove of ideas and his hands were the keys. He was a misunderstood genius, sadly never to reach his potential. He dreamt of becoming an artist and set his sights on enrolling at RMIT to study Fine Art.

After four years of hard work and many personal battles, Gavin graduated from Bachelor of Arts (Fine Art) in 2008. He was a natural artist who learned how to utilise his talents during his education at RMIT and how to co-ordinate his many talents and love of art together. Gavin sadly passed away at the age of 25 whilst travelling overseas. His funeral back in Australia was like an art exhibition that celebrated his work and his life.

The Gavin Teague Memorial Scholarship was established to assist students with artistic merit who wish to pursue the arts as a career path.
