The University of Newcastle is welcoming applications for its PHD Scholarship in Nanopositioning, with a application deadline due September 15, 2016. It includes living allowance and tuition fee cover.
The project involves the design and control of nanopositioning devices with sub-nanometer accuracy for Atomic Force Microscopy applications. The successful candidate will have excess to the state-of-the-art laboratory facilities including a high-precision Atomic Force Microscope; to work with a number of experts in their fields; and to attend premier international conferences.
Applicants will have a background in Mechanical/Mechatronic Engineering, finite-element-analysis, control, or microscopy.
The scholarship includes tuition fees and living allowance of $26,288 per annum (2016 rate) with possible top-up.
